VIDEO STANCE NO.30
MR. DERRICK J. MILLER
Met Miller in his shop on Elizabeth Street in Manhattan last week while sniffing out a shoe lead. His brand is called Barker Black (click) and does a subverted classic take on men's shoes. He's working classic but subverted American prep, rather appropriately you might say. Very crisply delivered and with a graphic take on the colour balance, I think Derrick's stance is giving many U.K. psuedo-preps a bit of a hiding, no? Battle cry should read 'Death or glory and nicely pressed cut-away' perhaps?
Seventeenth Lancers emblem is dead interesting motif and would like to bang on a bit longer, but am on double deadline for copy teamed with trouser-watch (Derrick knows a fitted chino when he sees one), so cannot do Mr. Miller's stance breakdown right now. Please bear with.
