LONG LIVE MEN'S LONG WEEKEND
..Or 'London Collections : Men' as it is going to be known, will run from 15th-17th of June, kicking off the run of shows that then goes Pitti Uomo in Florence, Milan, Paris and New York fashion weeks. Dylan Jones, GQ editor and BFC Menswear chair made the announcement and everyone agreed it was a jolly good thing. It's particularly nice that it has a colon in its name. Nothing worse that getting a semi on your first date, agreed?
Paul Smith, Burberry, Margaret Howell, Aquascutum and some others are all going to do stuff like shows/presentations. Tom Ford, Calvin Klein and Christopher Bailey are also gonna do event things. Also, known fashion forward evangelist, Prince Charles is gonna be involved too. Thrilling, no? What with this and the Olympics, it's going to be off the hook mental in London, believe. More of the ramifications of this later, and there are more ramifications than meet the eye. Fashion fact.
Loads of other key stuff happened, not least the re-launching of Style&Error Video Stances. Got two good ones and one odd one for you. First one up tomorrow, hopefully. No being overtly mean, right ? You know who you are, you 'trollops'.
Also some banter with Amir Khan about watches. Note the Audermar Piguet Royal Oak Off Shore fully iced version. Berserk kettle. Was sat next to the lads at Topman Design in The Royal Opera house. Also note the Khan/Gandy herringbone quotient. What with my Gieves&Hawkes h-bone overcoat, there was rumour a trend started right there and has become epidemic in parts of East London already.
More later, but gotta go on BBC World Service and talk about ties. It's more of a warning actually.
